HOW TO CREATE DECORATIVE TECHNIQUES

MURALS AND HAND PAINTED SIGNS

Below is a small selection of the murals and hand painted signs I have created.

Note: this page will be added to and links will be made to a description of the tools, materials and methods used in creating the various effects.

Hand Painted Embellishment

This is an ornamentation of olive branches, hand painted by myself, above a refurbished Victorian fire place in a house on the Wirral.

Colour Circle Mural

A mural of the colour circle hand painted in the Painting and Decorating workshop of the Wirral Met. College. The outlined figure of a painter has been taken from the book 'Painting and Decorating - An Information Manual'

Hand Painted Sign

A pub sign designed and painted by yours truly, on both sides and hangs outside, where else, The Queen Vic. in Essex.

How it was done

Mural in Small Loo

I've created more of a background picture than a mural here but the client was happy. It's in a house hear Chester.

Mural in Bathroom

Here the client asked for an underwater image. I've tried to give a sense of depth with tropical islands in the distance.

Canoe Silhouette on Van

The client wanted a simple image of a canoeist on the side of her van. I drew an outline, enlarged it (by the squaring off method) and hand painted it on the van.

Beer Garden Mural

Because there was a children's play area the client wanted cartoon characters.
